DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, October 13, 2025 — The 45th edition of GITEX GLOBAL 2025 opened its doors today, marking a historic milestone in the evolution of global innovation. With over 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, and delegations from 180+ countries, this year’s event reflects the rapid convergence of AI technology trends emerging, policy, and enterprise innovation shaping the future tech developments of tomorrow.

Global Leaders Unite for AI-Powered Growth

The grand opening was led by H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, who emphasized how innovation and economic diversification remain at the heart of the UAE’s growth strategy. The event — Gitex Mohammed inaugurates — gathered ministers, CEOs, and investors to explore how artificial intelligence is redefining global economies.

“The UAE isn’t just participating in the innovation race — it’s leading it,” said Al Marri. “Our economic model is built on resilience, knowledge, and advanced technology.”

Deep-Tech Dialogues and International Collaboration

Key figures, including Ekaterina Zaharieva of the European Commission and Dr. Najwa Aaraj from the Technology Innovation Institute, highlighted how deep-tech ecosystems can strengthen national economies. Meanwhile, Hon. Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister for AI and Digital Innovation, described GITEX as “a powerful hub for cross-border partnerships in AI.”

At the Intelligence Super-Cycle panel, leaders discussed the economic and ethical foundations of AI, emphasizing the importance of building trustworthy and inclusive technology.

Major Unveilings at GITEX 2025

Several tech giants made headline announcements:

  • Cerebras introduced its record-breaking supercomputer for AI training.

  • e& presented over 90 showcases, from air taxis to electric vehicles.

  • BlackBerry launched its secure communications system for government and banking sectors.

  • Oracle, AWS, and HCL Software showcased powerful AI-driven tools for cloud computing, cybersecurity, and automation.

These innovations underscore Dubai’s growing role as a global technology epicenter — a vision central to Gitex Mohammed inaugurates and the UAE’s commitment to future tech developments.

The Road Ahead: AI-Native Societies

With representation from over 180 countries, GITEX continues to position Dubai as the hub of AI and digital transformation. Day two will feature Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, in conversation with Peng Xiao, CEO of G42, discussing the rise of AI-native societies.

For global travelers attending the event, flight and hotel bookings are available at Travel Afrika Eye.
