Australia’s dominance in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup continued as skipper Alyssa Healy’s record century sealed a crushing 10-wicket win over Bangladesh on Thursday, securing the team’s place in the semi-finals. The match, held in Visakhapatnam, saw Australia chase down 199 in just 24.5 overs without losing a wicket, delivering one of the standout women’s cricket highlights of the World Cup so far.

This was Healy’s second century in a row—an unbeaten 113 off just 77 balls—and further cements her reputation as one of the tournament’s most impactful batters. Partnering with Phoebe Litchfield (84*), the duo made light work of the chase and ensured Australia became the first team to qualify for the final four.

Healy Shines Again in Dominant Display

Coming off a match-winning 142 against India, Alyssa Healy’s record century against Bangladesh was yet another clinical performance. Her aggressive innings featured 20 boundaries, showing both class and intent. Litchfield supported with a composed knock that included 12 fours and one six, marking her eighth ODI fifty.

“I didn’t know we have made the semi-finals,” Healy admitted during the post-match presentation. “We pride ourselves in professionalism, we played well today to get the two points, and we’ll be prepared for the next match.”

With this fourth win out of five matches (one was washed out), seven-time champions Australia are once again showing why they’re the team to beat.

Bangladesh Falter Despite Bright Start

The Australia vs Bangladesh cricket highlights weren’t short on early promise from the underdogs. Bangladesh opener Rubya Haider impressed with a solid 44, hitting eight boundaries and providing a strong platform. However, the middle order crumbled once spinners Ashleigh Gardner, Alana King, and Georgia Wareham took charge—each claiming two wickets.

Sobhana Mostary offered some resistance with an unbeaten 66, helping Bangladesh reach 198-9 after 50 overs. But the total was never going to be enough to challenge this Australian side in top form.

Skipper Nigar Sultana, who was stumped off King’s bowling, admitted, “In these conditions, we should get more runs. Not being consistent as a batting unit cost us.”

What’s Next for Australia?

Australia now heads into two remaining league-stage matches, including a high-stakes face-off with England next week. Given their current momentum and tactical edge, they’re expected to push hard for the top spot heading into the knockout phase.

For fans following the women’s cricket highlights World Cup, Healy’s back-to-back centuries and Australia’s unbeaten opening stand have been among the most thrilling moments yet.
