Corrections Policy

Afrikeye is committed to accuracy and accountability. When we identify a material error, we aim to correct it promptly, clearly and in a way that helps readers understand what changed.

What We Correct

Corrections may be required for inaccurate names, dates, figures, quotations, locations, descriptions, images or other factual claims. We also consider complaints about missing context, misleading presentation, attribution or fairness.

Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or style changes that do not alter the meaning of an article may be corrected without a formal correction note.

How Corrections Are Handled

Correction requests are reviewed against the published article and the available evidence. We may consult source material, official records, the reporter or editor, and people directly connected to the story.

When a material error is confirmed, the article should be amended. Where appropriate, a correction or update note will explain the substance of the change. We do not remove accurate reporting merely because it is unwelcome or has become inconvenient.

Updates and Developing Stories

News develops over time. Articles may be updated as new verified information becomes available. A routine update is not necessarily a correction, but significant changes should be presented transparently where they materially affect the original report.

Submitting a Correction

To request a correction, use our Contact page and select “Correction”, or email news@afrikeye.com. Please include the article URL, the information you believe is inaccurate, your proposed correction and reliable supporting evidence.

We will review requests as promptly as practicable. Submitting a request does not guarantee that content will be changed, but every specific and evidence-based concern will be considered in good faith.

Complaints and Follow-up

If you disagree with our response, you may reply with additional evidence or context and ask for the matter to be reviewed again. Afrikeye will make the final editorial decision based on accuracy, fairness and the public interest.
