Eritrean Community Activities: Cultural Celebration in Jeddah Festival

The Eritrean community activities festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, took place with vibrant patriotic spirit from 9 to 15 November. This cultural celebration Jeddah highlighted Eritrea’s rich heritage and the active participation of the diaspora.

Festival Highlights and Cultural Displays

Officially opened by Mr. Abdurahman Osman, Eritrea’s Consul General in Jeddah, the festival featured photo and video exhibitions, traditional displays of Eritrea’s diverse ethnic groups, and bazaars presenting products and artifacts from Eritrean families. Cultural performances, artistic shows, and sports competitions for youth of all ages added lively energy to this festival in Saudi Arabia.

Leadership and Community Engagement

Mr. Estifanos Habtemariam, Director General of the Desks Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided detailed briefings on Eritrea’s domestic situation, regional developments, and global affairs. He emphasized the vital role of nationals in contributing to the country’s growth and national programs.

Participants expressed their strong connection to Eritrea, pledging continued support and contribution to national initiatives. Mr. Estifanos also commended the diaspora for their ongoing involvement in national development and urged them to strengthen organizational capacity, awareness, and unity.
