Deepening Diplomatic Ties: President El-Sisi Reaffirms Egypt Tanzania Bilateral Relations
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a critical diplomatic phone call with the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan. The high-level dialogue focused on shared grief, major infrastructure milestones, and the continuing evolution of Egypt Tanzania bilateral relations.
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the Spokesman for The Presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President El-Sisi initiated the conversation by extending his deepest condolences over the recent passing of Mr. Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the husband of the Tanzanian President. El-Sisi emphasized the profound solidarity of Egypt’s leadership and its citizens with President Hassan during this time of sorrow, offering prayers for the deceased and solace for the brotherly Tanzanian people.

A Foundation of Historical Cooperation
Moving beyond the expression of heartfelt sympathies, the leaders used the opportunity to underscore the historical depth of Egypt Tanzania bilateral relations. President El-Sisi commended the remarkable progress witnessed in recent years, highlighting the momentum generated by his recent diplomatic visit to Dar es Salaam.
A central pillar of this growing partnership is the Julius Nyerere Dam project. The recent participation of Egypt’s Prime Minister in the inauguration of this massive hydropower initiative stands as a monumental testament to what robust Egypt Tanzania bilateral relations can achieve for continental infrastructure. President El-Sisi firmly reiterated Egypt’s ongoing support for Tanzania’s national development efforts, stressing the need to boost coordination in vital areas of mutual interest, particularly concerning regional water management.
