As part of its Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG)-approved work plan for 2026, the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) Secretariat facilitated specialized professional development for two key team members. This LEITI staff training took place at the Magna Skills Institute in Accra, Ghana, running from August 3–7, 2026.
The initiative supports ongoing efforts to build a highly skilled workforce capable of advancing EITI Standard implementation across Liberia’s extractive sectors.
Targeted Professional Development
To ensure maximum institutional impact, each staff member participated in a course directly tied to their core responsibilities:

Saba B. Cephas (Administrative Manager): Completed intensive training in Human Resource Management.

Christine Humaru (Communications and Outreach Officer): Completed specialized training in Report Writing Skills.
By tailoring the instruction to specific operational needs, the program equips the Secretariat to streamline internal management and deliver clearer, more impactful public reporting.
Advancing Gender Inclusivity and Institutional Goals
The participation of two female staff members directly supports gender inclusivity goals outlined in the LEITI Act, the updated 2023 EITI Standard, and the Secretariat’s internal operational framework.
This capacity-building program was made possible through crucial support from GIZ Liberia. Their partnership plays a vital role in helping LEITI maintain a professional, agile team capable of meeting international transparency benchmarks. Moving forward, the Secretariat plans to apply these practical skills to enhance work performance, refine internal processes, and drive the effective execution of its mandate.
