The UAE has announced a $1 billion artificial intelligence programs Africa initiative to strengthen AI innovation across the continent. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, made the announcement during the G20 Summit.
Expanding AI Infrastructure Across Africa
The AI for Development initiative will fund ai projects in african countries to improve digital infrastructure, government services, and productivity. It will be led by the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) in partnership with the UAE Foreign Aid Agency.
