The government of Eritrea is making significant investments in youth development and vocational education. Recently, a new cohort of Halay Technical School graduates celebrated their academic achievements, marking another milestone in the country’s educational advancement. The graduation ceremony, which took place on July 2, 2026, highlighted the nation’s commitment to producing capable youth equipped with essential technical skills.

Among the newly certified individuals, there were 18 female students, underscoring a growing trend of female participation in specialized fields. The recent group of Halay Technical School graduates completed an intensive two-year certificate program. Their comprehensive training covered highly sought-after areas such as computer maintenance, networking, and metal works. Mr. Raguel Tekle, the director of the institution, emphasized that the school is working in earnest to meet the national demand for skilled human resources, a priority frequently discussed on the main African news portal.

The Ministry of Education has been exerting substantial efforts to equip vocational schools with modern educational facilities. Mr. Tesfay Seium, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training, indicated that the institution has greatly benefited from this ongoing modernization. By providing advanced tools and resources, the administration ensures that Halay Technical School graduates are well-prepared to enter the competitive workforce and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Official updates from Eritrea’s Ministry of Information confirm that these initiatives are vital for long-term economic stability and youth empowerment.

Commending the dedication of both the teachers and the staff, a representative spoke on behalf of the students, expressing their readiness to play a crucial role in the nation-building process. According to institutional records, over 500 Halay Technical School graduates have successfully entered various industries since the establishment of the school. As the country continues to prioritize business and industrial growth, these young professionals are expected to drive significant economic and infrastructural development across the region.
