Men’s health issues such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and low testosterone affect up to half of adult males in Nigeria—yet stigma and cultural silence prevent many from seeking help. That’s where telehealth for men’s wellness comes in, offering private, accessible, and expert care.
Transforming Men’s Healthcare Through Telemedicine
Priv Health, an online men’s health platform, is tackling long-standing taboos by providing discreet, affordable medical support. Founded by Joseph Anya and Dr. Olusina Ajidahun, also known as “The Bearded Dr. Sina,” the startup bridges a major healthcare gap by delivering men’s telemedicine in Nigeria focused on sexual, mental, and overall wellness.
Since its launch in January 2024, Priv Health has served over 1,000 men and built a supportive community of more than 8,000 members, generating ₦19 million in revenue. “Men often struggle to seek help due to stigma. We want to change that by creating a safe digital space for them to open up and get real care,” says Anya.
How the Platform Works
Priv Health’s telehealth for men’s wellness system starts with an online assessment where users provide medical history and symptoms. Licensed doctors then review submissions, recommend treatments, and arrange lab tests if needed. Prescriptions and test results are delivered directly to users’ homes, ensuring privacy and convenience.
This hybrid D2C telehealth model combines consultations, e-pharmacy services, and diagnostics. Users pay ₦8,000 per appointment, while medications and tests come with additional costs. The startup partners with reputable labs across Nigeria, allowing sample collection from home—a major step forward for men’s telemedicine in Nigeria.
Breaking Stigma and Expanding Access
By offering digital consultations, Priv Health eliminates barriers such as social judgment, clinic travel, and long wait times. This innovation aligns with Nigeria’s broader goal of digital healthcare inclusion and could reshape how African men engage with wellness services.
The platform’s focus on discretion and affordability gives it a competitive edge. Anya says the company plans to expand into the pharmaceutical space, producing smaller-dose daily medications that feel like supplements, further strengthening its online men’s health platform identity.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Men’s Digital Health in Africa
With the global men’s healthcare market valued at over $54 billion, Priv Health aims to scale across Africa, becoming a trusted name in telehealth for men’s wellness. By blending technology, confidentiality, and expert care, it is setting new standards for men’s telemedicine in Nigeria.
