President of the National Olympic Committee, Mr. Michael Teklemicael, stated that hosting the event in Akordet was a tribute to the Gash-Barka Region’s contribution to Eritrea’s athletic success. The region, he noted, has vast potential for building a stronger Eritrea sports infrastructure and producing talented Olympians.
