KIGALI, Rwanda, December 5, 2025/APO Group/ – NBA Africa (www.NBA.com) announced five prize-winning startups at its second NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator Demo Day, highlighting how the program supports business growth in Africa while offering transformative NBA Africa business incubation opportunities. The event, hosted at Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa), showcased innovative African entrepreneurs and their market-ready solutions.

Prize-Winning Startups and Incubation Opportunities

The top five startups – Reborn (Morocco), Fitclan (Egypt), Athlon Technology (Egypt), Atsur (Nigeria), and Songdis (Nigeria) – received financial support and the chance to join CMU-Africa’s 12-month Business Incubation Program, valued at up to $70,000. This program helps African tech startups transform prototypes and early market assessments into scalable products.

The top three startups also received $10,000 in API credits and an exclusive immersion day with the OpenAI engineering team at OpenAI headquarters.

  • 1st place: Reborn (Morocco) [RebornSportsTech.com] offers advanced performance indicators to help athletes optimize their physical and on-field performance. Awarded $25,000 cash, CMU-Africa incubation access, $10,000 API credits, and OpenAI immersion.
  • 2nd place: Fitclan (Egypt) [Fitclan.co], a digital fitness hub with flexible subscription models for individuals and corporate clients, received $15,000 cash, incubation access, $10,000 API credits, and OpenAI immersion.
  • 3rd place: Athlon Technology (Egypt) [AthlonTechnology.com] provides mobile and AI-driven video analysis for amateur and budget-constrained sports teams. Awarded $5,000 cash, incubation access, $10,000 API credits, and OpenAI immersion.
  • 4th place: Atsur (Nigeria) [Atsur.art] leverages blockchain to support African art investment and communities. Awarded $2,500 cash and incubation access.
  • 5th place: Songdis (Nigeria) [Songdis.com] offers digital distribution services for independent African artists. Awarded $2,500 cash and incubation access.

NBA Africa’s Role in African Business Growth

NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi praised the talent and creativity displayed at the Demo Day:

“The finalists and prize-winning companies differentiated themselves through bold, innovative solutions shaping the future of sport and entertainment in Africa. The support they receive from this program will help them scale their products and make a lasting impact on the continent and globally.”

The NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator, launched last year, continues to promote business growth in Africa by providing mentorship, technical expertise, and funding opportunities for early-stage African startups. Partners CMU-Africa, ServiceNow, OpenAI, and ALX Ventures contribute specialized support to ensure scalable, market-ready solutions.

Transforming Africa’s Startup Ecosystem

Selected from over 700 applicants across 32 African countries, the 10 finalists pitched to a panel of international industry leaders including CMU-Africa Director Dr. Conrad Tucker, OpenAI Africa Lead Emmanuel Lubanzadio, and ServiceNow Africa executives Cheick Camara and Nikki van Gasse. These startups exemplify how NBA Africa business incubation opportunities and NBA Africa startup accelerator programs are driving innovation and shaping Africa’s tech ecosystem.
