Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s national airline, has announced a landmark nonstop service between Los Angeles and Casablanca, set to launch on June 7, 2026. This historic route marks the first direct air connection between Africa and the U.S. West Coast, offering travelers an 11-hour journey that significantly improves easy travel routes to Africa for both leisure and business passengers.

The new flight is expected to strengthen tourism flows, business travel, and cultural exchange while supporting seamless travel between U.S. and Africa through faster and more efficient connectivity.

A Major Boost for Seamless Travel Between U.S. and Africa

By eliminating long layovers, the direct Los Angeles–Casablanca service reduces travel time and simplifies transatlantic journeys. Royal Air Maroc aims to meet rising demand from American travelers seeking smoother access to Africa’s growing tourism and business markets.

This route enhances seamless travel between U.S. and Africa, benefiting professionals, investors, and tourists who previously relied on multiple connections to reach North Africa.

Casablanca Becomes a Gateway to Must-Visit African Destinations

Casablanca, Morocco’s economic hub, offers travelers a blend of modern infrastructure and historic charm. Visitors can explore landmarks such as the Hassan II Mosque, the Royal Palace, and the city’s Atlantic coastline while enjoying its vibrant urban culture.

More importantly, the city serves as a strategic hub for onward travel to must-visit African destinations including Marrakech, Rabat, Tunis, Dakar, and Abidjan. These connections make it easier for U.S. travelers to explore iconic African locations, from North African heritage cities to coastal and safari destinations further south.

Expanding Tourism and Business Opportunities Across Africa

The new route creates fresh opportunities for African tourism operators to design multi-country itineraries tailored to American travelers. Improved accessibility supports tourism growth while strengthening Africa’s position on the global travel map.

Beyond tourism, the nonstop flight strengthens commercial ties by enabling easier movement for entrepreneurs, diplomats, and investors. Casablanca’s role as a financial and trade hub makes the route especially valuable for expanding U.S.–Africa economic cooperation.

Morocco’s Growing Appeal and Adventure Tourism

Morocco continues to attract global travelers with its cultural depth, diverse landscapes, and hospitality. Destinations such as Marrakech, Fez, Essaouira, the Atlas Mountains, and Sahara Desert camel treks are now easier to reach, reinforcing Morocco’s status among must-visit African destinations.

The improved air link also supports cultural exchange in music, film, cuisine, and arts, deepening people-to-people connections between North America and Africa.

A New Chapter for Easy Travel Routes to Africa

The Los Angeles–Casablanca route represents a major step forward in Africa–U.S. aviation connectivity. As demand for African travel grows, this service could pave the way for additional routes linking American cities to the continent.

By enhancing easy travel routes to Africa and supporting seamless travel between U.S. and Africa, Royal Air Maroc’s initiative positions Morocco and the wider continent for sustained tourism and economic growth.
