The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference, taking place in Dakar from December 8-10, will bring together global energy leaders to discuss how gas infrastructure development and natural gas utilization can shape the region’s industrial future. The agenda includes a high-level session titled Powering the MSGBC Region with Sustainable Technologies, exploring how new gas projects, regulatory reforms, and emerging green hydrogen initiatives are transforming the energy landscape.

Speakers include Katrin Puetz, Co-Founder of BioGasUnite; a senior representative from COS Petrogaz; Jonathan Ambrogi, Business Development Officer at EnGreen; and Jason Yang, General Manager at Neway Valve. These experts will examine how cleaner technologies and expanded energy capacity can fast-track energy security and industrial growth across the MSGBC region.

Mauritania Pushes Clean Energy and Hydrogen Development

Mauritania has advanced its clean energy strategy through the launch of a 160 MW solar project, a 60 MW wind farm, and major battery storage infrastructure. These developments will be delivered through a public-private partnership and reinforce the country’s move toward natural gas utilization alongside renewables.

The energy transition follows the start of LNG production at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project, a milestone expected to shape regional power generation, exports, and industrial performance. These developments support broader gas infrastructure development efforts that aim to reduce energy deficits and stimulate long-term economic growth.

Senegal Strengthens Regional Power Leadership

Senegal is reinforcing its position as an energy hub through the Cap des Biches combined-cycle gas plant, adding 300 MW to the national grid. The project supports the country’s target of 30% renewable energy by 2025 and aligns with industrial diversification strategies influenced by the Sangomar oil field development.

The anticipated final investment decision on the Yakaar-Teranga project will play a central role in Senegal’s strategy to deploy natural gas utilization as a bridge fuel, providing stability during the energy transition.

Regional Growth Opportunities Amplify Investment Potential

Industry stakeholders are invited to explore business opportunities and participate in the MSGBC 2025 conference by visiting www.MSGBCOilGasAndPower.com or contacting sales@energycapitalpower.com. The event aims to foster partnerships that accelerate both renewable expansion and gas infrastructure development.

Mauritania Emerging as Green Hydrogen Leader

Mauritania’s aspiration to become a global leader in green hydrogen initiatives is driven by large-scale ventures including the Aman project, which completed geological studies in March 2025, and the Megaton Moon project, currently under development. These initiatives are designed to fuel local industries such as green iron production and supply hydrogen to export markets in Europe.

The Gambia Advances Energy Expansion

The Gambia is modernizing its legal and infrastructure landscape with new petroleum legislation and a renewable energy partnership with Turkey. These shifts form part of its national goal to achieve 90% electrification by the end of 2025, supported by innovative energy policies and cross-border collaborations.

Industry Leaders to Map Pathways for Future Growth

Sandra Jeque, Events and Project Director at Energy Capital & Power, stated that the session will help stakeholders shape long-term roadmaps for sustainable energy advancement. With major renewable, gas-to-power, and green hydrogen initiatives coming online, regional collaboration is positioned to accelerate industrial growth and energy resilience.

The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference aims to unite investors and policymakers to advance a balanced energy mix, ensuring that gas infrastructure development supports cleaner power while strengthening economic competitiveness.
