ISTANBUL, Türkiye, November 14, 2025/APO Group/ – The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) (www.ITFC-IDB.org), part of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, has signed a US$47.6 million Murabaha Financing Agreement with Türkiye’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF). This landmark deal, ITFC’s first sovereign financing in Türkiye and its initial intervention in healthcare, was finalized in Istanbul during the COMCEC Meetings. Eng. Adeeb Y. Al Aama, ITFC CEO, and Mr. Kerem Dönmez, Director General of the Directorate General of Foreign Economic Relations at MoTF, signed the agreement.

Boosting Turkish Healthcare Amid Earthquake Challenges

The Turkish healthcare aid facility will focus on strengthening Türkiye’s healthcare system while supporting the country’s earthquake recovery program. Funds will be directed toward procuring essential medicines and medical devices, ensuring access in 12 to 53 provinces, with priority for regions most impacted by the 2023 earthquakes.

By enhancing the availability of critical medical resources, this financing will help restore essential health services, improve institutional resilience, and accelerate Türkiye’s broader recovery. The initiative reflects ITFC’s commitment to providing support for Turkish healthcare and promoting sustainable health infrastructure in the aftermath of natural disasters.

This agreement underscores the growing collaboration between ITFC and Türkiye, marking a new chapter in the nation’s recovery journey and its healthcare development.
