The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business has announced the final preparations for the upcoming 6th Canada-Africa Business Conference, scheduled to take place from June 24 to 25, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria. Headline sponsored by Zenith Bank Plc, the flagship event will bring together senior executives, investors, policymakers, and institutional partners from Canada and various African markets. The two-day gathering focuses on expanding cross-border trade, accelerating bilateral investments, and establishing long-term commercial partnerships.

Lagos serves as a critical economic gateway for global firms entering West African markets, making it an ideal host city to showcase Nigeria’s private sector capacity. The event arrives amid growing bilateral interest, following a recent diplomatic visit to Nigeria by Canada’s Secretary of State for International Development, Randeep Sarai. Discussions will center on high-growth industries, including financial services, resource mining, infrastructural expansion, agricultural trade, and clean technologies. For Canadian corporations and institutional funds, establishing strong banking partnerships reduces execution risks when navigating regional regulatory frameworks.

Zenith Bank’s lead role emphasizes how financial institutions facilitate market entry, trade finance, and treasury solutions for international corporations. Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, highlighted the broader meaning of the meeting. “Zenith Bank Plc is honoured to serve as headline sponsor to this distinguished gathering in Lagos, our home city and one of Africa’s most important commercial centres,” Umeoji stated. She added that the event reflects the expanding financial links between Canada and Africa, offering an important opportunity to drive shared prosperity.

Sector Opportunities Highlighted at the Canada-Africa Business Conference

The organizing body has spent over three decades establishing cross-border networks to facilitate private-sector-led economic growth. Garreth Bloor, President of The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, expressed appreciation for the institutional backing that made the Lagos forum possible. Bloor noted that the event is positioned to turn high-level diplomacy and mutual goodwill into practical commercial relationships and measurable transactions for participating entities.

The formal schedule for the Canada-Africa Business Conference features a mix of keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, and structured business-to-business networking sessions. Beyond Zenith Bank’s headline support, the corporate lineup includes Elephant Trade-Services DRC as Headline Chamber Sponsor and GardaWorld Security as the Gold Conference Sponsor. Silver sponsors for the event comprise Banwo & Ighodalo, Baywood Group, CBI News, Dentons, Eko Hotels & Suites, and Voranex Africa, while Abide Consulting serves as a conference partner.

As the Canada-Africa Business Conference concludes, the second day of the program will focus on deepening commercial ties between Chamber members and corporate sponsors. Activities include an on-site corporate visit to GardaWorld Security’s local facilities to review active capital investments on the ground, followed by a closing VIP reception. The Government of Canada continues to support these long-term trade diversification efforts in its official capacity as a Chamber partner.
