Mr. Fesehatsion Petros, Eritrea’s ambassador to Italy, formally opened the Eritrean community festival in Germany with great enthusiasm.
The two-day celebration included community meetings, cultural exhibits, seminars, a children’s village, and other events. It was attended by residents of several German cities as well as visitors from other European nations.
Speaking at the event were Mr. Yohannes Russom, Chairman of the Eritrean Community in Germany; Mr. Yohannes Woldu, Chargé d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy; Mr. Teame Haile, Head of Public and Community Affairs; and Mr. Hadish Goitom, Chairman of the Holidays Coordinating Committee. These speakers emphasized the importance of festivals in fostering national unity and attachment, preserving and nurturing national culture and values, passing on history to future generations, and encouraging citizens to participate in national development initiatives. They also praised the significant role that citizens, especially women, played in making the vibrant celebration a success.

Ambassador Fesehatsion called on citizens to increase their involvement in and contributions to national affairs while conducting a lecture at the event that focused on the objective situation in the country as well as regional and global trends.
The festival featured performances by well-known Eritrean musicians and artists.
