Ghana’s capital, Accra, will transform into the heartbeat of world music this December 2025, hosting the Talking Drums Festival, a landmark drum festival in Africa that blends hip-hop culture with traditional African rhythms. This major event is part of a growing Ghana tourism initiative to position the country as Africa’s cultural and entertainment capital.

A Celebration of Global and African Rhythms

Scheduled for December 29–30, 2025, the Talking Drums Festival (www.TalkingDrums.Live) promises an unforgettable African music celebration, featuring more than 40 international artists from the U.S., U.K., and across Africa. Executive Producer Ruddy Kwakye said, “The festival unites hip-hop’s global energy with Africa’s rhythmic heritage, celebrating its cultural dominance and lasting influence.”

Strengthening Ghana’s Cultural Tourism

This initiative builds on the success of the government’s Black Star Experience—a national branding campaign continuing the Beyond the Return legacy. It promotes Ghana’s creative industries, encouraging the global Black diaspora to reconnect through art, music, and heritage. Visitors can explore Ghana’s rich history, beaches, and nightlife by booking their cultural journeys through Afrikeye Travel.

Rex Owusu Marfo, the Presidential Coordinator, noted, “Ghana’s diverse musical heritage and dynamic creative scene make it the perfect stage for this drum festival in Africa and a vibrant showcase of global hip-hop.”

Global Collaboration and Cultural Exchange

Produced by the Republic of Amusement, with footprints in the Gulf, USA, and Africa, the event underscores Ghana’s reputation for large-scale entertainment. The Talking Drums Festival is designed to serve as a bridge between Africa and the diaspora—blending storytelling, dance, and fashion into one African music celebration that promotes unity and creativity.
