She noted that these exact principles continue to guide France’s global engagements and remain foundational to contemporary Seychelles and France relations.
The Ambassador observed that this year carries extraordinary weight for both populations, as it officially marks the golden jubilee of diplomatic ties between Victoria and Paris. She characterized the dynamic as a robust alliance between two sovereign nations whose mutual trust, open dialogue, and collective determination have consistently deepened when addressing common global challenges.
Deepening Maritime Security and the Blue Economy

Longstanding cooperation between the Seychelles Defence Forces and the French Armed Forces recently yielded a successful joint maritime operation, resulting in the historic seizure of more than 700 kilograms of illicit narcotics.
Recognizing Seychelles’ international leadership in pioneering the Blue Economy development and sustainable ocean governance, Ambassador Tallineau reaffirmed France’s commitment to expanding scientific field research and environmental conservation partnerships.

Looking to the immediate future, Ambassador Tallineau announced that President Dr. Patrick Herminie will travel to La Réunion to attend the upcoming July 14 celebrations as the Guest of Honour, following an official invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron. Members of the Seychelles Defence Forces will also be prominently recognized during the military parade, a gesture mirroring the profound fraternity reinforcing modern Seychelles and France relations.
