The ministry’s initiatives include free right-of-way for fibre Internet service providers, encouraging startups and broadband expansion. “You can walk into the state and lay cable without being charged even a dime,” Dr. Ezeh said. Economic Growth and Fiscal Reforms
Enugu’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) surged from ₦37.6 billion in 2023 to ₦180.5 billion in 2024—a 4.8× leap—proving the success of tech-driven reforms. The 2025 budget allocates ₦320.6 billion to education, ₦10 billion to security, and ₦20 billion to agriculture, further reinforcing the city’s sustainable growth vision.
Enugu Tech Festival: Showcasing Innovation
The maiden Enugu Tech Festival (ETF) in May 2025 drew over 28,000 participants, surpassing expectations. The event showcased enugu innovation ecosystem strength with local startups, tech leaders, and investors. All event management tools, from ticketing to branding, were developed locally—underscoring Enugu’s growing tech self-sufficiency.
